How do I prevent Ingrown Hairs if I Choose to Wax?

The Most Important part of a basic skincare regimen is Exfoliation and Hydration.  Exfoliation is the No. 1 recommendation in preventing ingrown hairs.  Equally as important is following up the Exfoliation process with a good Hydrating body cream to seal in moisture, keeping the skin soft and supple.   Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the outer (epidermal) layer of the skin, leaving your skin smooth and fresh.  One method of Exfoliation is the use of Exfoliating Gloves, Dry Brushing, or Japanese Wash Cloth.  Another is a good Cleanser, or Exfoliant with ingredients such as Fruit Acids; AHA (alpha hydroxy acids), Papaya and or Pineapple Enzymes, or Essential Oils.  I recommend Exfoliating at least 2-3 times per week, and Hydrating Daily with a proper Hydrating Body Cream.  The process will encourage new skin cell growth and stimulate collagen and elastin, keeping your skin cells healthy and younger looking as well as preventing or at least minimizing ingrown hairs.  My personal preference and recommendation is Dermalogica Conditioning Body Wash along with Exfolating Gloves, finishing with Dermalogica Hydrating Body Cream.
